Recent Acquisitions
Proof of wear from my high summer buys
I think you know by now that I sit with my morning caffeine and do my browsing at 7 a.m. every day. First, The RealReal’s new additions to my saved searches. Then Net-a-Porter and Mytheresa for new arrivals (on a side note: has anyone else’s NAP app not really been working lately?). I round out the scroll over on Substack to see what my colleagues are loving.
Surprisingly, I rarely actually purchase. Most things spend weeks (sometimes months) on wishlists, getting tried on, researched, revisited, closed out of browser tabs and reopened again. If something eventually makes it home with me, it’s because it has survived the fantasy phase.
The following are recent acquisitions with proof of wear.
I can't even tell you how long I sat on this one. I debated it for months because, realistically, how many oversized long sleeves does one person need? Well let me tell you, it was worth every bit of anticipation. The weight is substantial without feeling heavy, the drape is perfect and the sleeves open slightly at the cuff, making it feel far more considered than your average Joe Schmo oversized long sleeve.
Earlier this month, the ever-chic Neridah Twist hosted a pop-up for Doze at Spencers in West Hollywood alongside this summer’s hottest swimwear brand PECH and cult-favorite H-O-R-S-E.
I picked up what have quickly become my two most-worn pairs of shorts: the Doze Everyday Short in the perfect shade of pale-gray gum. I know Neridah obsessed over getting the silhouette exactly right, and it shows. The subtle slit and gentle curve at the leg opening make them incredibly flattering. The H-O-R-S-E Short Short are perfectly vintage in spirit and 100% cotton in comfort (thankfully they are restocking soon because my boyfriend accidentally shrunk mine in the dryer).
I’ve been rotating between them almost daily. The real test for shorts is whether they can survive multiple versions of your day. Coffee. Work. Grocery store. Dinner. Most don’t fit the criteria for the latter, but these do. White tank and sandals in the morning, silk button-down and a kitten heel at night. Voilà.
Apparently tabac is now my favorite way to describe brown. I love New York eyewear brand Thistles and recently picked up another pair because the color feels softer than espresso and less expected than tortoise.
I’m usually a tiny wire-frame oval girl, but I keep reaching for the Jack. Mostly because I can push them onto my head halfway through the day without sacrificing my hair. That’s a surprisingly high bar.
Basics are dangerous because they’re the easiest impulse purchase. Your subconscious doesn’t have to work very hard to imagine them fitting into your wardrobe. Which is exactly why I went back for another Saint Sirène tee.
I already owned the Best Friend, but this time I grabbed the Boyfriend fit to compare. They’ve absolutely nailed the trifecta: weight, neckline, and silhouette. Equally charming is the brand itself. There’s this subtle cheekiness woven through everything they do that makes a white T-shirt feel anything but boring.
This one is sentimental and I think that is what All Three is really all about actually. The Claire reminds me of a tank I lost in the Palisades fire that belonged to my mom in the ‘90s. It said Ener-Chi across the front and had almost this exact ribbing and weight.
I’ve been looking for a tank top with that feeling ever since. A reminder that clothes become stand-ins for memories, which is perhaps why shopping gets dismissed too easily. Sometimes you’re not buying another white tank. Sometimes you’re trying to find your way back to a version of home (!!).
Rapid Fire Beauty Recommendations:
The treatment that gives your skin the look people are referring to when they insist drinking more water transformed their complexion. There is a reason you see this everywhere. It works. My skin looks and feels plump, juicy, and delicious.
The Foundation Drops are, in fact, as fabulous as everyone says. Lightweight, skin-like and virtually impossible to mess up even if you have the makeup skills of a twelve-year-old (like me).
The Contour Stylus became the unexpected favorite. I don’t contour traditionally. Instead, I swipe it high across the tops of my cheeks, just beneath my under-eyes. It creates that subtle warmth that says “I spent the afternoon on the Mediterranean” rather than “I watched twelve contour tutorials.”
I’ve become slightly evangelical about this, but my skin has never been softer. I love a body oil that disappears into your skin instead of announcing itself every time you sit down. The goal is long-term hydration, not becoming a human Slip 'N Slide.
Last but not least, I’ve stepped away from the mentality that every workout needs to leave me completely depleted. Melissa Wood Health has officially influenced me. Twenty minutes at home has somehow been giving me better results than my hour-long reformer classes ever did. More importantly, I actually do it because it fits into my day instead of requiring my day to fit around it.
My matching navy Adanola set accompanies my newfound commitment to moving my body a little more intentionally. Also you should know: navy is the new black.
Ciao ciao x

Super lovely post!!
