What I Bought, What's In My Cart and Vintage Finds

Shopping is one of the ways I research. I spend far more time looking than actually buying, and usually what ends up in my closet has survived weeks (sometimes months) of consideration.

Every morning around 7am, with my cup of caffeine in hand and my new puppy at my feet, I make my way through a rotation of saved vintage searches before opening the usual circuit of new arrivals. By the end of the week I’ve bookmarked dozens of pieces– fashion, interiors, books, objects and the occasional internet rabbit hole of a long-forgotten vintage accessory– that haven’t quite made it into a post here yet.

So this week, I decided to share the edit: what i bought for high summer, what’s still sitting patiently in my cart, and the vintage finds that stop me in my tracks.

A side effect of puppy parenthood, I’ve learned, is that your wardrobe necomes overwhelmingly composed of in-between outfits. There are fewer occasions to get dressed right now and more reasons to throw on something that can survive a surprise sprint outside. Consider this my attempt to live vicariously through the pieces I’m collecting instead.

What I Bought

I finally found what feels like the shirt: a delicious Butterscotch yellow poplin button-down shirt with elongated french cuffs that fall open just enough to expose the writ. The perfect level of dramatique. The Aegean-blue is also a stunner. A major thank you to Michaela Pecoraro for the discovery.

I’ve also reached the point in summer where I’m somehow washing workout clothes every other day. Adanola remains one of my perennial favorites, and I picked up a pair of navy shorts and a sports bra for morning puppy playtime and my newly established Saturday strength-training ritual. I’m officially taking a break from all-black activewear.
